Eskimo asked: What type of guitar will give me the most sustain?
What type body gives the most sustain?
What playing habits will give me the best sustain?
What guitar strings will give me the most sustain?
Do pickups effect sustain?
What type of guitar wood gives the most sustain?
I heard that two EMG humbuckers are the industry leader for sustain. Is this correct?
Sorry for the redundant questions, but I find that I get better answers when I do so.

Dest B asked:
I have been playing acoustic guitar for a few years and have finally decided to buy an electric. I just have no idea what to buy. My price range is low ($450 max) and I would like to play a wide range of music. Everything from alternative to (some) metal. (i was advised to get a guitar with two hummbuckers). I also looked at some Schecters and like the feel of them. So you tell me, what brand, and model of guitar should i buy?

Kei asked: Hey, I’m planning on playing the electric guitar and I’ve never actually played a guitar before so I’m wondering if I should start with an acoustic since i don’t want to spend so much on stuff.
And which brand should I get?

My boyfriend wants an electric guitar. I’m hoping to find a beautiful blue one that has nice sound and is good to learn on, that will grow with him, in terms of him getting better. He is a beginner, but I don’t want to buy him a cheapo crappo guitar. I’d like to spend somewhere between $300 and $700. I’ve been looking at some more in the $700 range, but should probably not spend that much. Any suggestions?
I was looking at http://www.guitarcenter.com/Epiphone-Les-Paul-Standard-Plus-Top-Electric-Guitar-518341-i1149990.gc that one because people seemed to really like it but that’s where i got the $700 from. The blue one is gourg and I’ve read it’s a great guitar for the price. What would be a step or two down from that?

I just started playing a Yamaha Pacifica 112. My tutor mentioned that my hands seem too large for this guitar. Are there any guitars that have more space in their frets so my fingers will fit better?

Trav asked: I have had my electric guitar for 5 years now. Recently it sounded awful and I put new strings on. Well, when i play rock acoustic songs, it sounds fine, but the amp hasn’t sounded good here recently. Is it about time to buy a new amp or is 5 years not long enough for amps to start messing up?
I have an ARCHER electric guitar and a JOHNSON amp.
